Steps to becoming a land surveyor in Ohio
- Earn a 4-year degree from an ABET-accredited or Board-approved engineering or surveying curriculum*
- Successfully take the NCEES Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam to obtain certification in Ohio as a Surveyor Intern
- Work a minimum of four years as a Surveyor in Training
- Successfully take the NCEES Principles and Practices of Surveying (PS) exam
- Successfully take the Ohio-specific exam to obtain licensure
* If you already have a 4-year degree, you can get a 30-credit hour certification from an ABET-accredited program to proceed towards licensure
